• Check whether the last bit used has any damage, cutter dropping, or diameter reduction. Ensure the well bottom is clean of hard articles like carbide or steel.
• Inspect drill bit cutters for abnormalities and check for O-rings in nozzle holes; install nozzles as required.
• Clean the bit male or female threads and apply appropriate thread oil.
• Install the unloader on the drill bit and lower the drill string to make contact with threads for make-up.
• Place the drill bit and unloader into the turntable bushing, then tighten according to recommended torque values.
